Kiekert AG to hire 40 at Wixom HQ

Kiekert AG, a German automotive supplier, will invest $2 million in its U.S. headquarters in Wixom. The location currently employs 80 and the workforce is expected to increase to more than 120 within the next 12 months. The plant produces door-latch modules and is expected to increase production from 350,000 modules in 2013 to more than 1.5 million units in 2015.

The $2 million investment is part of the company’s global expansion plan, and will include new production equipment, office renovations and a new technology showroom. It is the global leader in latch closing systems and its products offer new security features and optimized comfort options.
