Lane Automotive revving up 138 jobs

WATERVLIET, Mich. — Lane Automotive is planning to expand its current facility in Watervliet and create 138 jobs. The company is a supplier of performance parts and accessories for racecars, hot rods, trucks and off-road vehicles.

Michigan Strategic Fund awarded Community Development Block Grant funds to the Charter Township of Watervliet for the expansion project. The funds will be used toward on-the-job training for 138 new employees at the site. Lane Automotive has agreed that at least 70 of the positions will be held by individuals with low to moderate incomes. Watervliet Charter Township will reduce permitting fees for the project.

Lane Automotive is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and has been located in Watervliet in Berrien County since 1998.
