Google building corporate campus in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Google is constructing a new corporate campus near the University of Michigan’s North Campus in Ann Arbor. The Internet giant will expand its operations and move them from downtown to the new facility.

Google will lease an office and construct an adjacent facility, for a total of 140,000 square feet. All of the company’s local functions will be consolidated into one location which will function primarily as a sales operation.

More than 400 work in Google’s Ann Arbor and Birmingham offices. The company declined to discuss hiring projections.
