MEDC, Citizens Bank award 70 micro-grants in Detroit

DETROIT —  A total of $175,500 was distributed through 70 micro-grants to members Michigan’s small business and entrepreneur community. The awards announcement was made at Detroit’s historic Eastern Market. The grants will be used for new equipment or other items intended to help small businesses expand or become more efficient.

The micro-grants are being provided by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Citizens Helping Citizens Strengthen Communities initiative of Citizens Bank. The grants were awarded to a wide variety of small businesses in the Detroit metro area and other parts of the state.

According to Citizens Bank, 90 small businesses applied for the 70 available micro-grants.
