Performance Fabricating building new HQ, creating 50 jobs in Fenton

FENTON, Mich. — Performance Fabricating is constructing a new $9 million, 100,000-square-foot corporate headquarters in Fenton Township. The metal fabrication company will employ scores of construction workers for up to a year and create more than 50 permanent jobs over the next two years.

The new building will house the corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility. Performance Fabricating will work with the chamber to interview structurally unemployed individuals and other unskilled high school graduates.

Performance Fabricating was awarded a Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant by the Michigan Strategic Fund. Fenton Township supported the project through a property tax abatement.

According to its website, Performance Fabricating has more than three decades of design, manufacturing and installation experience. It is a primary supplier to automotive, health care and institutional customers worldwide, specializing in steel fabrication and robotic welding. The company currently has 30 employees.
